Hawzah News Agency- the assembly issued the statement in response to Kuwait's "incompetent" court sentencing Ayatollah Al-Ma'touq, a Shia cleric and Kuwaiti member of the World Assembly of Ahlulbayt (AS), along with two others, to death on baseless espionage charges for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The full text of the statement follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
"And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do."
Kuwait's Criminal Court, in its branch handling so-called state security cases, has with utter shamelessness sentenced Ayatollah Sheikh Hussein Abdullah Al-Matouq — a Shia scholar and Kuwaiti member of the World Assembly of Ahlulbayt (AS) — and two others to death on fabricated charges of espionage for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Assembly of Representatives of Seminary Students and Scholars, while declaring its condemnation of this disgraceful and inhumane act, declares to Kuwait's ruling establishment: you will see the consequences and punishment for these obsequious performances on behalf of the Jews.
The Islamic Ummah and the free people of the world consider this ruling biased and unjust, and while condemning these malicious acts, reject as invalid and devoid of legitimacy the authority of a Kuwaiti court beholden to Trump and Netanyahu.
Ayatollah Al-Matouq is among the outstanding figures of the Islamic world and one of the fighting scholars serving humanity, and undoubtedly any aggression against him will be met with the wrath and revulsion of the Islamic Ummah.
The Assembly of Representatives of Seminary Students and Scholars, while declaring its solidarity with this struggling scholar and demanding his immediate release and that of other oppressed prisoners, urgently calls on international bodies and human rights organizations never to remain silent in the face of this unjust ruling and blatant violation of human rights.
